What initially started as just a t-shirt design to wear to Walt Disney World in commemoration of my niece's second birthday turned into a way for me to practice my skills in After Effects. Thrilled with the design, I was excited to put the skills I've been honing to the test.
Each of The Sensational Six sports a prop that can be found within the Disney parks. Mickey has a churro, Minnie has popcorn, Donald has a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar, Daisy has a Mickey balloon, Goofy has Dole Whip, and Pluto wears a Mickey Mouse ear hat while sitting next to a mirror glazed Mickey Dome Cake. The surrounding sprinkles act as confetti and reflect that the shirt is celebrating a birthday.
The motion for this piece was inspired by bobbleheads and spring toys that a child might play with. Finding fun moments, like Minnie comically spilling her popcorn while excitedly waving, really brought the characters to life.
